Auger Boring Box Pushing

AUGER BORING BOX PUSHING

IN BOX PUSHING, A RCC BOX CULVERT IS SEQUENTIALLY PUSHED FROM ONE SIDE OF EMBANKMENT TOWARDS THE OTHER SIDE, SLOWLY.

Auger Boring Machine is used to bore horizontally through soil or rock with a cutting head and auger. The majority of Auger Boring are used to install pipe casing under railroads, highway, airport runways, lined drains, creeks or any area of the surface ground that cannot be open cut or disturbed in anyway. The ABM is usually used in places where sub-soil water is not present. TESPL has installed many cased crossing for both Oil & Gas sector and for Roads & Railway department.

In BOX PUSHING, A RCC box culvert is sequentially pushed from one side of embankment towards the other side, slowly. The Box, which is passing below the existing road is cast in situ in form of small segments. It is then placed in the alignment of the crossing, perpendicular to the traffic above and slowly pushed with help of Hydraulic Cylinders. Extreme precautions are taken to prevent cave-in and causing damage to live loads above the Box. The construction of passenger / vehicle under Pass, below live traffic is challenging to say the least.
